IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FLOWERS
This collection of large-scale floral photographs is many years in the making. I have been photographing flowers for over 17 years, and throughout 2018 posted a “bloom a day” on Facebook. The enthusiastic response to those images and a desire to do something more significant with them led to this new creative endeavor. Each photograph is meticulously manipulated to bring out the unique beauty of every bloom, then printed on archival watercolor paper for a fresh, bold effect. Printing on matte textured paper lends a painterly effect which, combined with a closely cropped composition, creates an abstract quality in the photograph. By presenting the flowers in this manner, even the simplest bloom becomes exceptional.
